Can anyone confirm if the Sportsmatch 30mm medium rings can accommodate a 44mm scope objective on the Roughtech model?

The description says the rings are suitable for objective size up to 45mm. But with the heavier contour barrel on the Roughtech, will it be too close?

Thanks, first time posting here

I’ll check in a bit. It can vary based off length of scope vs contour
That’s a good point. I guess I can just order them and if they don’t fit I’ll use whatever they have at my local gun store.

This is an SWFA 3-9x42 in UM lows. The objective clears the barrel shank, with plenty of room for an additional 1mm (though some objective bells are bigger even with the same lense size).

The UM lows give a center optic hight above center bore of 1.65 inches. The Sportsmatch give 1.59 inches.

So, total difference accounting for objective and ringswill be 2.5 mm.

I think it will clear. I unfortunately can't find any pictures of the same scope 8n the Sportsmatch rings, but I remember a good bit of clearance.

This is much appreciated. I’ll give the Sportsmatch a shot and hopefully they fit. If not I’ll figure an alternative until I can get my hands on a set of UM rings. Thank you!

I know it’s not exactly what you were looking for but another visual.

I think you will clear it just fine I had my Swfa 3-15 in Sportsmatch on a roughtech D18 contour with plenty of room to spare.
Sorry no pic had to switch mounting because it sent brass back into the receiver upon ejection.

If you have a caliper or access to one, it's very easy to check.

Stack pennies on the rail front and back. Lay scope on the stack. If you need more room, place another front and back until scope clears barrel. Then use caliper to check the stack height. Take that measurement and add 15mm (half of the 30mm rings) to get total height to the split line. Go to sport match website and get ring height. Done.

OR

Go to website and get height of rings first. Then stack pennies, dimes or whatever to the ring height. Lay scope on stack and you'll know if it clears.

Had to do this with my CTR barrel because some rings didn't fall out right. Some were just under where the scope hits and others were too tall and a big azz gap. I settled on UM rings for my 50mm Credo and you can barely slide a nickle under the scope. I swapped to a 50mm Tenmile and gap is the same. I know the roughtech is slightly smaller than the CTR because I had to slightly open the barrel channel on this roughtech stock to get the CTR barrel to fit. So it gives you some kind of idea.

Hey man, I might be sending you a PM with some questions about that scope.
