Tikka T3x Lite Stock Modification

Looking to see if anyone has had success modifying the original Tikka T3x Lite stocks to accept a Sendero contour carbon barrel.

Not something I want to run permanently, but I have all the component for a custom build minus a McMillan stock that is still 4-6 months out. I would like to at least start shooting it prior to September.

Thoughts?

I’d be nervous about the barrel contacting the stock. Sporter contour is a lot skinnier than Sendero contour.

Find a Tikka Varmint stock. They shouldn’t be hard to locate.

I plopped a Tikka CTR into a standard stock. Its not hard at all to clearance a Tikka stock, or most any stock really, for a bigger barrel.

I also fit a ctr barrel in to a factory t3x stock. My Dremel went missing so I removed a bunch of material with a razor sharp chisel and then went to deep sockets wrapped in sand paper. Going bigger and bigger until the barell fit.

Not sure if a Sendero is thicker than a CTR barrel, but the ctr was significantly larger than the standard t3x.

Hit it with a dremel, there was another member who did same as you and worked for him.

If you mess up you can snag another off eBay or here for dirt cheap

Can use a dremel tool or a wooden dowel (size of new barrel) wrapped in sand paper to open up the channel.
