Hey guys - quick question. Is the Tikka T3X any different today from those produced in 2017? I'm look at a gun new in box built in 2017 on-line. 308 caliber with 20" barrel. Just want to make sure I don't buy it and find out I wish I had bought a newer one. I'm tall and definitely don't want a stock with a shorter pull or something like that. Thanks for your help. I know we have some Tikka guys in the group!!

As far as I know, the only changes that Tikka made were between the original T3 and the T3X. Those changes were 1) a metal bolt shroud 2) opening up the ejection port a bit 3) adding the ability to change out the grip, and 4) making the recoil lug steel.

The only thing that I know that Tikka has done since they came out with the T3X in 2016 is add additional models, such as the Veil models, Roughtech models, and others.

That being said, the only T3X models that I know of in .308 with a 20" barrel are the CTR and the Compact. The Compact does have a shorter length of pull than the standard T3X.

As said, the only 20" versions (that I've ever seen) are the CTR and the Lite Compact. The Lite Compact should come with a stock spacer and additional recoil pad to use at standard LOP or remove them for a "youth" sized LOP.

I have a Lite Compact in .223 for my daughters and it's one of my favorite rifles in the full length configuration. 20" barrel is just right!!
