Good afternoon I was able to get a deal on a new T3x Forest in 270. I really like the raised cheek piece and the wood stock. I've always cleaned the bore between shots for the first 5 shots on a new bore with Butch's and a bronze brush. Is this still a best practice or is it more voodoo?

I did that with boretech stuff as well as cleaning copper out after 20 shot strings (3 times). My 308 really struggled to group out of the gate, but has since greatly improved. Could have been barrel break in, but could have just liked the ammo I finally got into. It’s now an moa gun. I’ve quit cleaning it now and don’t plan to start until groups open up fwiw.

Iv never followed any procedure with a stock tikka barrel.

Do clean before you shoot. Iv always cleaned after another 50 or so shots then not again for a while
