if i had to get behind one of those cartridges, i'm sending my rounds down the pipe of the 308....

on a serious note, i would happily trade my creed in for a 308 in the same rifle in a second without hesitation..... it's THE cartridge that the ammo shelves are full of (and .556) i like the creed, but abundant ammo is a fairytale right now.... i could be hoarding 308 right now, buying as much as i want every day.

that series of photos has some truth to it... the trusty ol' 30-06 looks a little dated

Welcome. After shooting a 308 and 300 WM, I now run a tika 6.5 creed set up the same way except with a DNZ mount. I mostly hunt whitetails in PA and NY.

mine grouped best with 143s but shot everything well. I have been shooting copper monos and none of the deer have run much. Short blood trails with only a bit of meat damage.

truth is you can slay deer with everything from a 223 to a 338 Lapau. Caliber debates are mostly just campfire blather. I like my creed. besides, the yoga pants my creed came with are really comfy and I am enjoying drinking chai more than I thought I would.

The Tikka TX3 is a nice gun. The 6.5CM is a pleasure to shoot and will kill those PA deer good and dead. Congrats on the new rifle. Those Tikka’s in 6.5CM love the Hornady 143gr. ELD-X.

I was one that swore I would never own a 6.5 Creed when they first came out and now we have 3 of them in the safe between my son and I and it has become my go to for deer in PA.

I also have 5 Tikkas and one of them being a 6.5 creed. Hard guns to beat for the money and my Tikka Wideland 6.5 outshoots most of my other guns including some semi customs.

Question for you 6.5 Creedmoor guys. Do you have to have a 24 inch barrel? It seems like most of them come with that.

All Tikka’s in 6.5 creed will have a 24” barrel. I also have 2 CA Mesa’s and they have 22” barrels. You don’t need a 24” barrel and the velocity loss between the two is only a couple FPS.

Would you find it equally humorous if folks started calling 6.5CM belittlers the “<derogatory comment> crowd? After all, it’s just a joke.

Call me what you want, I don’t care. I own 5 260Rems and 3 6.5Jesus. I rip on the 6.5 all the time.

Barrel lengthwise I have from 28”-20”. We use the 20” ones the most for hunting.

my vanguard is a 24 inch barrel. the browning xbolt hunter I recently picked up is 22 inch.
