Tikka T3 stock ?’s

Looking at getting a used (like new) T3 .243 for my son. I’d like to cut the stock down for him. I was wondering if I #1 should just cut the original stock or #2 buy a compact stock but wasn’t sure if the T3x compact stock would fit the original T3.

Correct. Also, you can just chop an inch or more from the stock, however finding a recoil pad that fits will take some work.

I would hunt down a compact stock instead of DIYing it for this one. The issues with recoil pads would be enough of a hassle that I’d rather screw a stock on and go.

I would try and cut it personally, very easy to do. They sell recoil pads that are designed to be fitted with a belt sander.
