I was disassembling my new Tikka T1x to get it Cerekoted and am having trouble removing the bolt stop pin, on my T3x’s the bolt stop pin just falls right out but for some reason this one seems pretty in there. I tried yanking it out with some needle nose pliers but so far it's not budging. Any help would be much appreciated!

Secure the action in a vise, or cleaning cradle, etc with the pin facing down. Grab the pin from the side with needle nose vice grips. Use a small hammer to tap on the vice grips to remove the pin. Might work with just good needle nose pliers, and tapping. If they are stuck, I usually can't grip it enough.

Might need to put a piece or two of electrical tap over the bolt stop to depress it slightly while pulling the pin. Not often, but occasionally the stop will wear a little groove in the pin and prevent removal. Pretty rare, but possible, and I've seen one that got hit on the stop and bent the pin.

Only way I know to remove blind hole pins.

Warning: hare-brained idea that is probably terrible!!

I know it’ll be a hardened steel and may be really difficult as a result, but has anyone ever tried just using an easy-out on a really uncooperative stuck pin like this and then replacing the pin?
