I tried searching and scrolling through some other T1x threads and couldn't find anyone talking about this, but feel free to point me to a thread if I missed it. Google searches have yielded decent results, looks like the set screws are loctited in and then you need a press to push the barrel out of the action.

I'm going to send some actions off to H&M for batch nitriding and wanted to add my T1x to the batch. My question is has anyone here removed and remounted a T1x barrel? Do able? Or huge headache?

I just cerakoted mine and opted to keep it a barreled action because this process didn't look very fun. I was unpleasantly surprised when i went to remove the bolt release however... The pin that holds it in the action is splined and a real bastard to remove. I ended up having to drill mine out and replace the entire assembly.

found a couple of decent videos on the process. Looks like a pain.
Very helpful -- thank you.

I've been looking for a .17 HM2 rifle and would like something a bit nicer than a Savage. Used values on Sako, Anschutz, and Ruger are somewhat silly at this point, so I'm thinking about re-barreling a .22 LR (or perhaps setting back and re-chambering a .17 HMR).
