So I've decided I need a good bolt action rim fire and am going to backorder me a lefty soon if I can't find one in stock somewhere.

What I want to know is should I be considering the 20" or 16" version? I've heard that 22lr doesn't benefit from anything over 16" and want to get your input before I order. Will be shooting sub and super sonic rounds. If the longer barrel is of no benefit, I'd rather not have it.

Thx

I’m in the same boat and would be interested in what people have to say.

I have a 20” that I run suppressed and I like that it balances very much like my centerfire counterpart. That said, no reason the 16” is a bad choice. Velocity and accuracy is a wash.

I recently picked up a T1x .22LR and I opted for the 20". Mostly due to availability on the rack but I also wanted to set it up as similarly as possible to my CTR. What a sweet little rimfire! Popping primers and burning powder is a mind game for me right now, given the state of component availability, so I jumped on a T1x when I saw it. I'd have to really develop a habit to burn through all my .22 ammo! 😉20210125_182853.jpg

I'm trying to hold out until they hopefully produce one with a SS barrel, but can only wait so long...

I’m running the 20” barrel with a dead air suppressor and i am still happy with the length. Doesn’t feel too long for me at all.

Thanks everyone for the input. Gonna think about it but will probably go for the 20" version. Do like the idea of keeping the length similar to my other rifles.

With all of the reply’s here, what is everyone running for optics? Found a 16.5” at Sportsman Warehouse and couldn’t pass it up.

In a perfect world...put the same scope on it as your primary hunting rifle. Then you have the ideal 22 trainer.

Has anyone seen a 16" .22lr recently? Ive been looking but have only seen 20"ers available
.

I've been looking for the 16" for a while and just about ready to buy the 20" if the price is right. Have you seen deals on them or are the marked up?

Pretty skinny barrels on these. I’m not sure how I’d like it at 16”, at 20”, with a supressor and a light scope it’s still butt heavy.

Do you keep your can on all the time or do you thread it on once your at the range?
I think Id also stay with the factory plastic stock and a small 2-7ish scope just to keep the overall package smaller and handier.

It will be on all the time, it’s my ready to kill stuff in the yard at all times rifle.

If I were buying a stock specific to this rifle and not taking it off another I would have been a krg bravo.

Well, it only took two years but the wait is finally over. Found a 20" LH in .22lr.

Still show in stock right now. LH Tikka T1X 22LR

The lefty tax put it at $579 to my FFL's door.

ETA: thanks to @ETtikka for posting their link
