Tikka T1X 17 HMR Varmint gun scope moint

Just picked up a 16” Tikka T1X 17 HMR from my local sporting goods store since it was on sale. Will be paring it with my Otter Creek Labs titanium suppressor.

I will be primarily using this set up for 50-200 yard shots on gophers. They also had an amazing deal ($150) for a Diamondback HP RIfle - Scope 4-16x 42mm Side Focus Dead-Hold BDC. Overkill , but couldn’t pass that up.


My question is, should I buy a rail or forgo and mount the rings directly to my weaver tail?

Should be plenty. I have one and it is so much fun to shoot. I haven’t found a load that it doesn’t shoot well actually.
