Hey there everyone, I was hoping to get some opinions on aftermarket tikka stocks. I currently have a 223, 6.5 cm, and a 308 all in a tikka roughtech stock.

Before you comment on why I have both 308 and 6.5cm its because I wanted to see the difference myself and I honestly enough both. Anyways I have been looking at the Peak 44 blacktooth for my 223 as it is my coyote rifle, but I really wanted to know what people think of Pure Precision, AG, and Manners as a replacement for the other two.

Since this is Rokslide, I'll be the first to say you should also check out the Rokstok. Plenty of positive reviews about ergos and spotting shots (I'm still waiting on mine to be delivered, but I wanted to try it out for myself).

Stockys VG is a good stock to consider as well. They give a good discount if you mention Rokslide.

I'm a huge fan of Manners stocks - I have about 5 of them in my safe. Very high quality stocks, can't go wrong with them.

Which Manners stock do you have and do you recommend the mini chassis or to bed your action with Manners?

I've seen the rokstock in pictures, I would like to handle one just to see what they feel like. They look ugly not that affects how they work, but I would be interested in how effective they are.

I have not done much research into Stockys, I will have to take a look at them as well.

I have 4 of the long range hunter (LRH) stocks and for me, I find them really comfortable to shoot. All have the mini chassis which is a true bolt in and go.

I understand what you mean on the look of the Rokstok haha. Not my favorite either, but I’m looking forward to trying mine out.

Not hard, time consuming. I started with a factory stock cut it down a lot and built from there. There are some posts showing this just not mine. It weighs 2.7 oz more than the Black tooth and 5.3oz less than the Tikka stock. I put a heavier recoil pad on which added weight.308.jpg

Dang that does look nice, I will have to look in to that. That is a good looking setup you have.

I should have said the + 2.7 oz is with the limb saver attached. I should have weighed the pad to see. I wanted to keep it light but thinking a little on the end may make it balance better.

I have not used any of the stocks you mentioned but I'm sure they are quality stocks. Just got notification that my rockstock shipped today. Looking forward to seeing if it is all that it's hyped up to be. I also agree it ain't the prettiest stock but I couldn't care less about looks over function.

Peaks is a smaller framed stock and not great for my large hands, but kids love it.

I prefer Mcmillian GW or my new want after shooting buddies MCS-PPFA

i have a manners lrh-t, pure precision, and a peak 44. the manners and the peak 44 are much nicer than the pure precision. i think youll love either the peak or manners, tho i prefer the manners if i had to edge one out.

I dont have anything other than a factory stock on any of my centerfires so no help there YET.

But what I have noticed is that "clean, classic" styling is not ergonomically ideal for most people. I recognize it on mine: swept grip, positive comb, etc arent all that comfortable to shoot. There are those that claim they like a swept grip angle, for example,......i personally doubt most of those have truly given a more vertical angle a chance.

I love a beautiful firearm...no doubt. But its a tool and I love a firearm I can shoot well and comfortably more.
