Tikka stock options

I currently have a 300wsm tikka in a krg bravo and i am going to build a 25CM in the new raven action whenever (if) those come out. I am looking at going back to a traditional style
Stock to save weight and allegedly help with recoil a bit? Are there any tikka stocks out there with an adjustable cheek piece that take AI mags. I won’t lie i’m being cheap as i have a decent amount of AI mags but i will likely need new bottom metal when going to a stock vs chassis? Preferred sub 2lb or lighter stock. My current 300wsm weighs 12.5 loaded and is a heavy boi when backpacking. Any help would be appreciated.

I’m curious what you mean by traditional style?

And, assuming you mean a traditional sporter-style stock, why you would want to do that? I don’t think you will get better recoil control from that.

Saving weight and lowering recoil don’t usually go hand-in-hand.

It’s relatively easy to find bottom metal that takes AI magazines. Check out some of the MDT options.

My issue has been finding a stock that I like that is readily available and takes ordinary bottom metal. I have been looking very hard at the MDT TIMBR Core Rifle Stock (2.6#), but my issue with it is that I would have to purchase new bottom metal and new magazines (AI pattern).

At that weight, it is roughly the same weight as my KRG Echo. Which may be another option for you to consider…

I like the Echo pretty well so far, but I prefer wood stocks.

If Stocky’s and Unknown could sort out their issues with the carbon Rokstok lite, I think that would be just about perfect for your needs.

Solid info i’ll look at that mdt bottom metal. I was curious why the rokstok lite is un-order-able.

Ive gone chassis as i can never seem to get the right cheekweld with traditional stocks and that lites negative comb might help. Hard to pull the trigger without touching one.
