Tikka stainless 6.5 PRC $600

Picked mine up Wednesday, going to silencer central for a cut and thread to 17”, will report back with how that goes.

That Hunter's rail, short, bolts right up to the Tikka with the existing stock screws, easy. I used that combo with the Tricer bipod last week on our cow hunt. I have UM Low Tikka rings for a 42mm NF scope and there's plenty of room for the NF so assume it'll be fine for the 42mm Trijicon.
edit: I didn't realize there was another page and replied to some old posts, oh well.
Thanks! That's everything I ordered. Low Tikka rings and when I selected 'Tikka' for the Hunter's Rail, short was the only option. Appreciate you confirming it'll all be fine.

Keep us posted, I plan to cut mine and am thinking between 18-20 inches. would love to know what kind of speeds you get at 17" on the tikka.
Me too! I just checked out Silencer Central too. Having mine cut to 22", re-crowned and threaded. $235- with shipping.

Any idea on a lead time from them? I'll reach out Monday if nobody has a guesstimate

It may be a while, I’ve got a Rokstok and a maven coming and I don’t usually start messing with new stuff until after the holidays. I will update on turnaround time from silencer central when I get it sent out. Paid on Wednesday night I think, they send a box to ship it to them I think and I’ll post when I send it their way.

Shot mine this morning with 147 eldm match factory and it didn’t seem to like it much 2” groups. Ran to town grabbed a box of precision hunter 143 eldx. Came home cleaned it and it had copper really bad so cleaned it crazy good. Went back out and tried the 143.

Shot 1 was fouling shot at the low bull. Shot 2 was at that bull it’s next to. Shot 3 was at the bull it’s next to then put 4 in the group in the bull.
Very happy with that, speed seems low at 2884 but hoping it’ll speed up some after a couple more boxes. If the wind will cooperate I’m going to try and shoot out to 4-500 tomorrow morning.

Nice shooting out of the gate. Around 2900 doesn’t seem to bad for a 143, hopefully it gains a little speed after 50-60 shots

That’s good to know. I haven’t messed with anything 6.5 so I went into this completely blind spur of the moment purchase so if it’s about where it’s supposed to be then I’m happy lol.

Picked mine up yesterday and ready to get it set up. Dropping it off tonight at the local gunsmith for the cut and threading. UM rings and Maven RS1.2 on the way as well.

I ordered UM rings too. FYI I emailed them yesterday bc my order placed last Thursday hasn't shipped. I'm not in a hurry but when I went to order, it said on backorder. Then an hour later it said they had 50. Wasn't sure if there was some kind of glitch.

I attached the response.

P.s. I was torn between the Trijicon AccuPoint 2.5-12.5x42 or Maven RS1.2 especially with GovX pricing. I love my Maven B.1 10x42 binos...went with the Trijicon though bc it was like $450 off.

Appreciate that info. Its time to sit in a tree stand so Im not in a huge rush to set this up.

I am going to go down to 20".

Thanks I'm thinking 21". That's the longest I can leave it and still cut a nice piece of foam to fit in my PelicanAir double bow case.

I'm doing just that myself. Bucks are running hard the past 2 days in South Jersey. Don't need the rifle till Idaho spring bear in May. Good luck 🏹 🦌

I picked mine up yesterday.

I'm going to get the bolt fluted, cut the barrel to 20" and thread. Debating OG 6.5 or Airlock 6.5 for a dedicated suppressor. I have it in my mind this will be "THE" western hunting gun for me based on my experience and everything I've learned on this forum.

I think I'll go Trijicon Credo 2.5-15 SFP/Mil.

SFP, blasphemy I know, but I'm just not sold on FFP for hunting. The only time I use my reticle as a ruler is target shooting and/or sighting rifle. I dial for distance for long hunting shots, and I've never even considered using reticle holdover for a follow-up shot. I was going to go Nightforce NXS 2.5-10, but the Credo is half the price.

Check out these guys if you haven't already. I went with Trijicon AccuPoint 2.5-12.5x42. I don't have a place to regularly practice with turrets or beyond 200 yards for that matter. I live in South Jersey. Flat lander. My uncle has a farm so I can practice as far as I see fit, but it wouldn't be a regular thing. That's why I just bow hunt even out west but I have some hunts in mind that demand a rifle, so I got this. I still have a bow hunting mentality even with rifle. I'd like close shots. Under 400. Being a solo hunter, I have to pack out solo too. Don't necessarily want to add to that.

Anyway, they have smoking deals on Trijicon and he's on Rokslide. I ordered the Tikka 6.5 and a Sig XTen 10mm along with scope and it was all here the next day. I couldn't believe it. Although they're only in PA, but still fast processing!

I just noticed what thread this is and you probably ordered yours from Euro Optic 🤦🏻‍♂️ I have a similar thread going about how much to chop off so I assumed it was that. Just dropped it off to shorten it to 21", no can or brake. Just need it to fit in my PelicanAir double bow case.

I love Accupoints. They are my go-to for most hunting rifles. I have the 2.5-12.5x42 on the rifle I took moose and grizzly hunting. It was ideal.

But I'm building this 6.5 PRC as a longer range "dialer". So I want the elevation turret.
