I have the stainless T3 lite n 7mm. I feel it is too lite, and does not shoot as well as my accumark (much heavier). T3 lite may be better in less violent calibers, but would avoid the magnums
I agree that the magnums can be a little abusive on a bench. I have a 300WSM and recently swapped out the stock recoil pad for a Limbsaver. I am absolutely impressed with how much it has helped. I never really bought into the idea that a pad could make that much difference and now I wish I had made the swap years ago. I burned 20 rounds today off a bench and actually enjoyed it. Who would have thought...??

My buddy has the 300wm T3. It shoots good but partitions flatten all the way to the copper in the mag, BT flatten a lot too. Seems like that thing needs a stronger spring or something. Front of the last partition will have almost 1/4” pancake on the end. He had to quit shooting them

I have yet to be begin to procrastinate.

I put my first Tikka together in 2004 and haven't bought another make since. I have since sold 2 Weatherby's and T/C Encore's and Remington 700's.
A 300 WSM and 7-08 for the wife covers all my bases. Hers is dressed up with a beautiful laminate Boyds stock and MT bottom metal for both. I still have the "tupperware" stock but pillar bedded it.

I just tried a new factory load today in my 300; https://www.federalpremium.com/rifl...ifle/berger-hybrid-hunter/11-P300WSMBCH1.html

Perfect weather in northern Colorado (NO WIND) helped me print a three shot group of 1.7 inch @300 yards.
What's not to like about that?

Alright boys - my Tikka is officially ordered. Tried hard to get the TX3 lite with 22” bbl with no luck, followed by a failed attempt at getting a solid deal on the super lite (all 22”) in 6.5 CM. Locked in on the JRTXB382 for $723 OTD. Gonna follow the love fest into the SWFA room after she arrives. More later and thanks for the invite.

My wife is going to be really mad at you all... I did show a little restraint and only purchased 2 SWFA scopes (10x and the ultralight). I see folks are waiting for that ultralight to come out with the mil quad reticle but I went ahead anyhow. I'll probably grab one of those when it comes out and move this one to another rifle in my stable. Thinking that 10x will be hot sauce on my Grendel.

BTW, my Tikka is in... my FFL guy is on a cruise with his wife until the 18th so I'll just have to toss and turn in my bed until then.

Oh boy - got my 6.5 CM yesterday (conveniently as locked and loaded put it on sale for $200 less than my smoking deal). Dropped the lightweight SWFA on it tonight with my middle son... nice looking rig; can’t wait to crank a few shots off after the holidays. Thanks for all the advice fellas - I may be late to the party but I’m good with that.

Now get some dies.

Not my threat below, but I contributed.

Reloading 6.5 in tikka is magic. No need for PRC envy when you can get witching 100fps of it!

I suck. Threat—>thread. Witching —>within. Bow head in shame.

I thought there was some autocorrect going on... but yes and thanks for the reference. I reload for a few of my rifles, but haven’t ventured into the 6.5 CM yet. Will definitely have to get that going this February (sportsman purgatory).

Owning a Tikka is like having an ugly girlfriend with a "nice personality". I mean, they will both do anything you want, and when its time to get down and dirty, they will both perform! You just dont really want to take them out to show them off!
