I picked up a new Tikka on Sat from my FFL that I bought from EuroOptic. Yesterday I tried to change the grip to the pistol grip. When I tried to unscrew it, it was really tight. So I cranked on it until it was off. Unfortunately it must have been cross-threaded from the factory, and ended up pulling out the entire threaded brass sleeve that screws into the stock. So both the screw and the brass piece were stuck together in the original grip piece. The only way I could separate them was to use vice grips on the brass piece while unscrewing the screw.......which finally came out. But could totally tell that it was cross-threaded and now the brass insert piece was ruined from the vice grips.

Anybody know if a dealer would have the brass insert pieces, or where I could get one. I'd hate to "return the rifle" for a warranty fix for just this little thing. Thanks for any help or info.

Mcmaster Carr has a bunch. I have also seen them at Ace Hardware.

I have a factory T3x stock if you want it, one is painted and one is bare. I'll be down on the front range tomorrow I believe, or at the CPW meeting March 4 if you want to meet up. Or I can ship it if that's easier.
