tikka bottom “metals” and AICs mags?

Badass! Have you tried the polymer Mdt Aics in it yet. I love them in my XLR and want to convert a tikka or 2 over.

No I haven’t. I just put this together and don’t have any. But so far the metal mags I have are doing great with just cycling in them in the garage. Hope to get out this weekend and really test it out. I was worried from other posts it might be loud/loose in the magwell. But these are tight. Feels really solid and no clanking.

Yeah, my gripes with Aics is the noise and extra weight of the metal mags. So far the MDT poly's have been great. Lightweight and quiet

I’d like to try the plastic mdt - are you using it in a tikka and if so what bottom metal? I was worried about the noise but - maybe it’s how I installed the bottom metal - but So far these mags fit tight. There’s no clanking or jingling even when i slap and shake the rifle. I have to physically remove them - they don’t drop away. But they are heavier.

No, my use has been in various Xlr chassis. I am wanting to try them in a couple of my tikkas, just haven't decided on a bottom metal. If you end up trying a polymer in yours, be sure to post up. I would be interested to hear your opinion. Good or bad.

xlr chassis but was it a tikka action? I read somewhere the plastic MDTs didn’t feed well in tikkas because of the plastic feed lips and since it was on the innerweb I know it must be true! . Sounds like they’re working well for you. If so I’ll probably snag one to try -wish they had it in a 5 or 3rd though for the 6 arc

Sorry, yeah, both have been tikka actions. I must have been tired last night. 6.5 CM and .308. They feed good for me. I was really wanting to convert one of my rokstoks to Aics.
