Tikka bolt shroud spring

Is a spring required when replacing the bolt shroud on a Tikka? Never noticed one on the factory one.

Can't say I've ever seen/owned one that had a spring; factory OR aftermarket.

Very timely, I just had this same questions yesterday as I was installing an MT bolt shroud for the first time. I called MT and they explained that without the spring, it's a little loose, with the spring, it secures it in place so there's no rattle. I'd recommend installing it.

Atleast the shroud is easily taken off. Replacing the bolt handle was a pain.

Just got one from Atlasworx that had a spring in it, first time I’d ever seen one. Bolt handle is easy, just put an Allen wrench in twist, bingo.

Wasn't bad until after I cleaned up the cerakote on the bolt handle.

the spring came on my factory t3x and with the atlasworks shroud. i don't recall my t3's ever having one.
