I believe USPS is the only way to do it legally now. Here is the reg on it:



I suggest taking a printout of the regs with you to the post office. The clerk may ask you if the package contains a firearm. I do not suggest lying in answer to that question, though I don't volunteer that information unless asked. I've had a clerk freak out and refuse to mail a barreled action because I wasn't an ffl, despite my showing her the regs. Her supervisor quickly cleared it up once he was summoned.

I believe UPS now only ships for FFLs registered as such in their system:
Exactly what I have done...And be prepared for an 'expert' in line to overhear and offer their POV.
 
Good info here. I plan to ship a couple to Kampfeld soon after getting a $300 quote locally to cut and thread a tikka.
Once the stock, bolt and trigger is stripped off I won't even bother telling USPS its a firearm, to prevent any confusion.
