I have a question on 2 tikkas my gunsmith swapped barrels for recently. Both barrels were new threaded Tikka take off barrels. One was a T3x 7-08 that now wears a 6.5 creed and the other an older T3 3006 that is now a 270. Both barrels head spaced perfectly with the barrel caliber almost 90 to 180 degrees rotated from normal and below the stock so to see the caliber I would have to remove the stock. He shot both guns and no issues just wanted to see if this alignment issue is normal for spinning on a different Tikka barrel?
For now a label maker will take care of it but I know I could have the caliber laser engraved where I can see it easy. Just don’t want my kids to grab one and use wrong ammo.
He is also going to swap out a barrel on a 7mag so anything that could be done differently? I have used this gunsmith for some things and have no issues so far just I was a little surprised at this.
