Interestingly, I couldn't find much info on the Tikka add-on beavertail forend on the web. I ordered and installed one on my CTR and thought I'd post some pics and data in case anyone is interested. I bought the tan version because it was cheaper.
The forend comes with a screw which fits the middle screw hole in the factory stock. It's slightly longer than the original screw that came with my CTR. The forend plus the screw weigh 3.1oz.

The forend is installed by removing the forward sling stud and middle screw (if you have one installed) from the existing forend and sliding the new piece over it front to back, until the holes align. It is then secured with the provided screw in the middle hole, and the forward sling stud.

It locks up really nicely when installed and feels solid. I was thinking I might have to epoxy it in place, but I don't think I will need to. Overall I quite like the feel of it, I can get a much better grip than on the factory forend. The beavertail is (2.1") at the middle screw vs the factory stock which is 1.77" at the same point on the stock.

There is as little bit of gaps on the back end, and the front looks a little funny if you look closely, but neither affects function.

I'm pleased with it, although I have no illusions that it will improve my groups
. Anyone else have added one to their T3x and like it?
