Tikka 9.3x62

So I have found a Husqvarna M46 in 9.3x57 (that I would send out to get reamed up to 9.3x62) that I might grab this weekend however the fellow selling the rifle is supposed to be meeting another buyer and I’m next in line if it doesnt pan out.

In the likely event that he sells the rifle to the first guy, I have a line on a Tikka T3 lite in 30-06 that I would buy and do a barrel swap on to 9.3x62, I also have a Boyd’s laminate wood stock it would go in. Has anyone done this or something similar?

You could also send the tikka to JES to rebore instead of a brand new barrel

I've seen a couple factory 9.3x62 tikkas, but they are scarce in the US

simpsonltd.com gets quite a few husky 9.3s in too. They add inventory every day

I’ll just say I really like the 9.3x62 cartridge. It’s like a 375 H&H lite. Would vote you add one, either tikka or Mauser.

You may run into mag length issues in the m46. I have one in 9.3x57 and It looks to me like the extra length would be an issue. I’d opt for the 146 if it were me building a 9.3x62. The 9.3x57 is fun though if you reload. I have one of each.
