Tikka 7mm Rem Mag Twist Rate

When did Tikka update the 7 mag twist rate from 9.5" to 9"? Or was it always 9"?

Well, I measured with a cleaning rod. I didn't 100% believe my result the first time so I went and bought a good set of jags so I could get one fitting perfectly snug.

I measure the twist rate to be exactly 1 in 8 5/8.

I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up that it'll shoot 180 ELDMs...

Tikka makes good shooting rifle but man they take forever to update their products for USA markets. Must be that refined Euro legacy (bunch of BS). They must love to leave money on the table just for tradition sakes. Eagerly waiting for that 7 PRC. Maybe I'll just do the Browning X-Bolt 2 instead and be done.

Well it looks like they've updated their 7mm twist rates just in time for me.

Maybe a step toward retooling for 7prc?
