I have a Tikka T3X superlite that has always shot factory ammo pretty darn good. I recently had the barrel shortened and threaded to use a suppressor. Since then the gun tends to shoot groups like the one pictured with a few different factory ammos. I have shot the gun with the same suppressor with good results before I had the barrel shortened. Any ideasIMG_6174.jpeg what would cause this?

Probably shifting in the stock. What stock is it in, what torque, and have the action screws been de-greased and thread locked?

agreed on this. the factory stock is really the weak point on tikkas, especially if off a bipod. Running stockys stocks on all 3 of my tikkas. I like the results!

I've never swapped stocks on any Tikka I've had (7) since 1998. I'd check to make sure the action is seated properly on the lug first, action/torquing, then see if the barrel is free floated up to about an inch forward of the lug.

I would check the recoil lug and retorque. Have you tried shooting groups without the suppressor since you shortened it? I see that it shot well before. Might not hurt to shoot it without a suppressor.

Thanks for the input everyone. The obvious easy thing to try is to shoot it without the suppressor. I’ll try to get back to the range in the near future.
