Tikka 300wsm in MDT HNT26 LA

Looking for opinions and ideas to make this set up work. Tikka T3x in 300wsm. I went with a LA hnt26 in hopes of having an Extended COAL with my hand loads. The rounds cycle fine out of the 300wm 5rd magazine that MDT sells, however they do sit to far “back” in the magazine and the bolt won’t pick them up to feed. So to my knowledge the two options are: buy a Tikka Long action bolt stop, or try to modify the current magazine with a custom spacer kit. From what I’ve read, there isn’t a spacer kit commercially available for this conversion.

If I seat the rounds like this they feed fine. If they are seated to the magazine wall, the bolt doesn’t pick them up.

Tweaking the feed lips wouldn’t keep the subsequent rounds off the wall and I’d imagine would cause feeding issues.

Simple fix. Get the long action bolt stop.

That or a couple minutes with a dremel to your current bolt stop.
