Tikka 300wm super lite barrel options

I’m considering rebarrelling and therefore rechambering my 300wm. It’s currently a factory 300wm super lite with the fluted barrel. I hate the recoil of it and I’m not excited about the prospect of mounting my Thunderbeast dominus on a 24” pencil barrel.

What are my options for rebarrelling without paying to modify the bolt face etc? I need a magnum cartridge, like a 6.5 prc? Will the prc fit in the factory magazine? Am I on the right track with a 20” 6.5 prc or am I overlooking a better option? Not trying to kill past 600 yards, realistically 500 is more than I like to shoot.

20” 6.5 PRC would be awesome. Go for it. You will probably need the WSM magazine though

I turned mine into a 270wsm for my girlfriend to shoot. A 6.5 PRC/saum would be a good choice as would a 9 twist 300 wsm throated for 215s.
