Tikka .243 Win or hold out for a 6CM?

My brother now has my Tikka .243 and I was going to pick up another Tikka one. But I thought about waiting to see if Tikka would release a 6CM for next year.

I don’t mind hand loading, but would be nice to buy ammo with better bullets if I wanted.

I wouldn't wait for Tikka to chamber a new caliber. Get a Tikka and rebarrel or just buy a 6 CM in a different rifle.

I’d get a .243. Get a 1/8 twist and good to go for heavy bullets. If you want a 6 creed down the road then put a different barrel on it

243 barrels burn out fast enough, just shoot it and rebarrel in a year or so.

There were some crazy good sales on fast twist Tikka 243.

I picked up a Tikka 243 with the 1-8 twist last year. It took awhile to find a load that would shoot with the heavier bullets. It shoots just under 1 MOA.

Even if Tikka comes out with 6 Creeds at SHOT it might be a year before we see them.

I’ll probably just replace the T3X .243 I had with another.

I have a 1/8 243 and love it so far. I am shooting the 95g lRX from barnes and really like them.

If you find a faster twist one, and can handload, don’t wait. Do your best to shoot barrel out and buy a new one in 6 creed if that’s what you want
