I switched to a truball boss x 4 finger a couple of years ago and love it. I mainly hunt out of treestands and I just clip it on when I climb up. But if I was going to be using it for elk hunting I'd probably go with a hook style. Something that was quicker at hooking up and drawing

Gumbo I hear ya on the 'accuracy' point.Few have the background to shoot that way or the inclination to practice to be able to.Understood, particularly since the need arises rarely if ever.
The 'need' most often would leave you with your release anyway.(peep turn, peep freeze up,sight damage, etc) but I've had 2 release fails and one dropping it incident over the 60 plus years I've bowhunted so...???On one elk hunt a fall took out my 3 pins but having practiced and/or shot 'instintively' for years let me finish out the hunt with reasonable peace of mind.
Also for me it's just fun.
FWIW you are still a kid to me and I'm envious as hell.Bought my first 'set of wheels' in 72.:)
Good hunting to you!
