any have their tikka superlight threaded for a break? will it destroy the accuracy? its for a 6.5 creedmoor. while it has low recoil already, i was thinking about putting one on for my little guy

thoughts?

I've had it done too, but for suppressors. It's absolutely no issue...

Try a can instead of that break! You still lose 40% of the recoil, but the muzzle blast is gone. It's a wonderful benefit, and is super fitting for young shooters. I see as much flinching from the muzzle blast as I do from the recoil.

Any gunsmith with a lathe or a buddy with a lathe can do it. Ditto on the can for kids. My kids are spolied now and won't shoot without them but it avoided them picking up a flinch from the muzzle blast. Mine are running area 419 mounts so I can switch between brake and can easily. Makes it way easier to talk them in onto a target as well when they get hunting in big country. It's one thing for kids growing up in texas to hunt from a blind...you pretty much can just point at stuff...when you get them out for elk hunting in the mountains you need to get them lined up and finding the target. Cutting out the muffs makes life a lot easier because they also start getting the concept of natural point of aim when getting proned out when they started practicing on steel.

I had my barrels cut back and then threaded 1/2-28 because there is not enough material to thread 5/8-24. The issue is if your brake or adapter is for a .30 or bigger they are usually threaded 5/8-24. Possible solution is you can get an adapter that you can go from 1/2-28 to 5/8-24. Hope that helps.

I had both of my Superlites threaded 1/2-28 and then got different adapters for 30 cal can. No problem at all and if you gunsmith cuts a target crown it might even increase in accuracy.

I had a brake from muzzle brakes and more installed on a Tikka 300 WM by a local smith, no issues at all and much more pleasant to shoot.

Scor Hi in albuquerque just did a tikka barrel for me, went 1/2x28 and installed adapter for 5/8x24 tbac break. They've done several barrels for me, excellent work and fast turnaround.

My 300 WM was threaded 5/8", not sure how much smaller the 6.5 barrel is but there's an adapter if needed to larger threads.
