Thoughts on Fanatic Hoody

Thinking of getting the Fanatic Hoody, Whats your thoughts and what is your usage for it. Im actually thinking of going black to use in my ground blind during turkey season.

I have two, one for every day wear, one as an insulating later for big game. I like the pocket on the front, I like the fit more than the core heavyweight. The only thing I don’t like is the fold-over hand protectors. They add bulk to my wrist area that I don’t want, and I’ve never used them for their intended purpose.

By the way I have the R1 hoody. How does it compare

The one I have is the same thickness as a core heavyweight, I like the face mask and the hand warmers are nice but kinda unnecessary in my opinion. It would be better if Sitka just started putting a face mask in all their baselayer hoods

I like the core heavy weight or the R1 better then the fanatic Hoody. The mitts on the fanatic are a Pain in the ass., they aren’t really functional in use and when you pull them back they add unnecessary bulk in the wrist. all three I listed are just about the same weight. The face mask on the fanatic is ok when your using it...when you pull it down I don’t care for it around my neck. All in all I used my core heavy weight way more, I also have couple R1 that’s are solid as well. Another great mid layer hoody is the TAD Gear Vortex. I beat the hell out of mine and it’s held up great.

I love the fanatic. Very warm and cozy. I used the mittens for elk reeds this September.
