1. The most dangerous thing in the woods, is a wet stick on a steep hillside

2. The scariest animal in the woods, is the grouse that goes off under your feet when its just getting light out. Sounds like a helicopter taking off.

3. Yes, you should throw in more toilet paper.

4. When in the middle of a willow thicket and getting stung by a yellow jacket... I could win the part in any martial arts movie with my amazing karate chops and flying hands. secondly, you cant get away from a mad yellow jacket when tangled in a willow thicket.

It’s just around the next bend/hill.
Patience is a virtue.
Rifles - aim at a hair, not the animal
Shotgun - swing faster, don’t stop swinging after you pull the trigger
Pass it on, teach someone else

Don't get up and move...yet..
But when you do get up the first thing you should do is a 360. You can probably see a lot of new area now that your head is 3 feet higher, but anything in that area can now see you so be quick about it.

1. SIT STILL. There aren't more animals "over there".
2. Take stock of why you're out there. It's not about the kill. There are few places where you can truly detach.
3. Yes, you packed too much stuff.
4. You are not a hunter only when you are in the field. Your conduct in everyday life, like it or not, reflects on our sport. Act accordingly.
