How are the 12's for you in glassing off-hand? They've seemed marginal to me, but I've wondered if I couldn't get used to them in the field with a little more time behind them that way.

No issues honestly, the 8s are a bit easier but they’re surprisingly easy to keep steady.

Swaro 10x32 El range/Zulu 6 16x42 W/ Kowa 66. Gets it done

Not sure i got the question right but if can have a rangefinding binocular then 10x42 of that and a good rifle scope. If rifle scope doesnt count as one of the then 10x42 rangefinding binoculars and a spotter 20-60x80 ish. swarovski brand although could get by with most just fine.
