Who has experience using this product to remove carbon rings? Is it abrasive? When I called Bullet Central, they claimed it's nonabrasive. Many on the internet claim it is. Who's used it, and what issues, if any, have you experienced? Mainly concerned with POI shift and velocity issues after a thorough clean with this product

I use it occasionally but not for carbon rings. If I have a carbon ring issue I use the original Iosso paste with an Iosso oversized brush, works better. Thorro Clean is better for bore work.

Carbon ring = Ring of carbon at end of neck at transition angle to throat.

No issues using either product. If it's abrasive it's no more abrasive than JB. You could probably wear yourself out scrubbing forever and see no dimensional changes in a barrel. That said I don't use Thorro Clean as a regular bore cleaner. It get things too clean IMO.

BTW Iosso makes Thorro Clean for Bullet Central.

test for abrasives yourself.

chuck up a mop in a drill and soak it in iosso or jb or thouroclean and hold it against the barrel and see if you can detect wear after 10 minutes.

I use Thorroclean, it's awesome. But I also clean a barrel. When you think F Class or benchrest, they CLEAN their barrels. They are the most accurate shooters in the world how could you possible think a clean barrel after a few fouling shots isn't a good thing.

I have it and have used it a few times. I won't say it's worthless but it's nowhere close to CLR and Montana copper killer in my rifle and Bergers. If it's abrasive, it's not abrasive enough to matter.

I use clr for carbon and Montana copper killer for carbon.

When I do clean I use Thorroclean. It is very effective at residue removal and light copper removal.

For carbon rings I use the Iosso paste.
