hoping someone has an old manual for it laying around. Curious about loads, torque specs, really anything.

Smooth bore or rifle ,If a rifle about 80gr of pyrodex or Ffg BP and patched RB should be good.

Smooth bore is not so easy but can be done.

Usually start with 80gr pyrodex or Ffg BP 1 1/4 oz shot,fiber wads and over shot card,can go up to 100gr and 1 1/2 shot but it'll kick a bit BTW powder loads are by volume measurement not weight

most of the surface rust came right off with a toothbrush and some hopps elite. Got the barrel cleaned fairly well. First time cleaning a muzzleloader really wasn’t too bad just super messy lol

I plan to do my test firings with 245 grain sabots. Not looking for accuracy it’s just what I got laying around at the moment. If all seems sounds, I plan on taking it whitetail hunting this year in the brush. I’ll be shooting Great Plains Hunters once I know it can handle it

Rifling twist in the TC New Englander is a 1/48 It may not shoot sabots well,if you try it it will need to be fast.TC selected the twist to shoot PRB or TC conicals my 2 do it very well when loaded properly.Good luck on your journey but be careful with hot loads.You can blow out the nipple on these old guns.I've done it.

I figured it won’t be accurate with the twist rate. Just wanna make sure it’s working etc. But I live in a small town and don’t have many options at the moment lol. So I’m either ordering a bullet mould or some different ammo
