Arrowhead .45 smokeless barrel here + mgm 6.5 creed barrel @16”+ suppressor. Hard not to pick that rifle up for every hunt

I’ve been considering building one of these up for some time now like the Hobbit rifle with a 16” suppressed rifle barrel, a 20 ga TSS choked turkey barrel, and a muzzleloader barrel. The fact that T/C went out of business stopped me. Now that they are coming back on line, the idea is coming back to the forefront. Sounds fun, but might be a substantial money pit.

Yes to the money pit. It will start with one frame, then each barrel needs a frame, then this cartridge looks interesting and so on.

My thought was one rifle with three barrels in one package to hunt any big game plus turkeys in any state. I think the average spend for the Hobbit rifle thread with one frame one barrel, the grip, folding stock, and optic was about $1800. I’m figuring three barrels, a scope, a red dot for the turkey barrel, and irons on the ML barrel would get me to around $3k. And that is what is what has kept me from doing it.

I had one several years back, accuracy troubles related to the forearm and a couple of barrels were rusty out of box when Smith and Wesson had them. I bought a new 2025 pro hunter frame real stainless, not weather shield non-sense. The trigger is excellent, waiting on 30-06 barrel that is on order. I expect that Greg will deliver the classic quality they used to have. I also have a snow camo 7-08 Venture Predator that is a favorite in my family. Very happy to see the return of this company.

Also if you have trouble with accuracy, do the dollar bill thing on the forearm. You can use a couple of stainless washers to give greater clearance from the barrel if needed. Stratton customs also builds hangers that free floats the handguard either way if you have problems that will help get your groups the best they can be.. watch for contact of the handguard on the receiver too. Some have reported that was an accuracy issue. The gun is a great concept and addictive, you will keep buying barrels and stocks, handgrips for pistol barrels, it never stops. Have fun with it.

I had an encore that was my go to rifle for years. The majority of time had a 7mm08 or 243 barrel on it with a 223, 22-250 and 280 barrel passing through to play with. I had good accuracy out of the rifle and actually enjoyed it. I sold it a few years ago when they got so high and we needed the money while we were building our house. I have been looking around and thinking about getting another one but haven't done so yet. I'd like another 7mm-08 barrel on it when I get one.
