Can anyone tell me if some later model prohunter encores lacked engraving?

I know contenders did not. Thakns

I think it is marketing/refresh. My Encore ML is not the prohunter version and does not have the speed breech, engraving or the improved buttstock. I am not sure if the prohunter could handle higher pressures, I.e. magnum loads or if that was the same?!?

Thank you for your reply. I have been looking to buy another encore pro hunter frame. Looking at one that is said to be a prohunter but has no engraving. Flex tech stock, swing hammer. I think it is a contender with its wood stock so will probably pass on it.

Just tired of switching between shotgun and rifle. Figured another frame would make the shift easier. Hard to find them now without a second mortgage.

The encore and the later prohunter encore are the same, just different naming. There are a few different side machining patterns. No engraving like the original contenders.

This is confusing. Several individuals have told me the encore prohunter is engraved. Then more have said clones don't have engraving. Looking for another frame to cut down on barrel changes. Guess, I will buy one with the engraving to match the one I have. Thanks for your input.

I killed a bear with it Friday evening. 175lb boar. Shot at 280 yards. Had a 2" exit hole and he didn't take one step after impact. Just fell on his side and moaned. I've also killed 3 coyotes with this combo and they all just fell over dead with a large exit hole. All shots were around 350 yards. My load is peterson brass, cci200 and 58.9 gr of 4831sc.

I know they aren't bonded like n accubond, but I've seen a couple references to them being that tough
Thoughts?

My gunsmith loads them in everything 7mm he works up loads for. Loves them.

Here is the new tc https://tcarms.com/. Haus of arms who is a retailer dedicated to all things tc has the frames listed as awaiting delivery and taking a list to notify when available. They were also involved in the Ssk50 project which is a clone of the original contender. Ssk was recently sold to geisele and they just sent a bunch of barrels to midway. Price went up 125 or so per barrel over ssk.
