This is manslaughter

Stories like this make me sick. We just lost a very well decorated Fire captain here in Az on a Colorado Elk hunt. A 17 year old girl shot at a cow elk and missed striking the captain in the arm and chest. He succumbed to his wounds on the way to the hospital. Very sad story and a reminder to know what is beyond your target. Manslaughter charges are a must.

He was also supposedly trespassing and hunting after shooting hours . A real tragedy for everyone .

A close friend of my father in law was killed in a hunting "accident" a few years ago. He was climbing up a bank during turkey season and when his head broke the top of the hill, an irresponsible hunter shot and killed him. The lives destroyed by such an event are numerous, long after a life is lost.

You can't be too safe out there guys.

Some people will shoot at a moving bush. These should be treated as crimnal acts, not accidents. Criminal negligence (if properly enforced and publicized) will reduce such incidents. How anyone could shoot a person by mistake while hunting is beyond me. A guy was recently shot by a bow hunter who mistook him for an elk! HTF does that happen?

I know a guy who was shot during turkey season. Sitting in a brush pile wearing a red hat.......i can't even

A guy was shot a few years back here in N. Idaho in a very similar situation and the perp served time in the state pen for it.
