UtahJimmy are they still out that late in the year? I was doing some reading on CPW's website and they made it sound like the bears all den up by November.

I always get one, just in case…..I tried finding a bear through all four rifle seasons last year and only found tracks, but that ended during the third season. By the fourth season I was taking my rifle for a walk in the snow.

Saw a really nice bear half way through 2nd season last year but no tag.

We saw one last year during 3rd rifle. Snow wasn’t heavy yet at that point and it was much less than a typical year. Not sure if that affects den timing or not.

Kind of, depends on where you hunt if your up high probably not, but I have seen em still out wandering around down in the oaks and cedars in the southwest part of the state.

We often see bears during third season in the mid to lower elevations. I think they are hanging out close to where they will den up but are still trying to pack in calories.
