Thinking about a Sauer 100

Thinking about one in 6.5 as a deer do all for me and the kid.

Anyone laid hands on one?

Thoughts?

I've got the 404 - slick rifle and from all reports the 101 is a fine rifle too

I'm gonna try the 6.5, just wish you could get stainless

The finish that they use is incredible. I've had mine rub against rocks and steel and not mark the finish. It is tough and I would not be concerned about it.

My Dad has used his Sauer 200 as his main rifle for the last 25 years. It is the best balancing gun I have ever shouldered. Craftsmen ship is superb, smoothest bolt I have ever felt. Just an overall amazing piece. After that many years of hard use the finish has started to wear, it could probably need some reblueing. Not sure what the newer 101's would be like but Sauer is top notch.

I had a 970 in the 90s that was a great rifle- I'd roll with one with no worries.

Figured they seemed about the best value under $1k

Taking my 7 yo next fall for mulies, hopefully he'll be able to handle it on a tripod
