OP, I'm about your size. 5'11 200#. I have the regular and it works just fine, but if I was truck camping rather than backpacking, I'd get the large.

It is very crinkly when setting it up/moving it around, but I found with my weight on it, there isn't nearly as much noise.

I like mine, use the mummy shape. It is not as comfortable as an Exped Downmar 9, but at half the weight for the same warmth the small decrease in comfort is worth it.

I have not found the two Xtherms I own, nor a friend's Xtherm to be noisy. The neoair is noisy though.

My Xtherm was noisy the first night but now that it’s had around 15 nights on it I don’t notice it at all.

I love my large, mummy. As for size, I don't recall dimensions, but I am 6' 1" 250.

Get a wide one and rubbing alcohol and a brand new tube of GE silicone. Put a 1/8” bead on both sides of the pad and a single bead full width on each pillow ( alcohol clean with clean cloth and do one side let it dry and flip and do other. )
Keeps it from sliding on your tent floor or tyek and your bag from sliding off it all night.

Pad seems nice. Loud but the reviews say it gets quieter. I am def happy I went with the large can’t imagine a smaller one. Can’t wait to use it.

If you’re hunting hard, the last thing on my mind is the pad noise. It’s warm and comfy. Get it your bag and go to sleep.

I have the big Agnes insulated air core ultra, worked well but sprung a leak in night 2. Is the xtherm more durable?

Definitely worth it. It’s the only pad I’ve owned and it’s been super warm in sub freezing temp. The wide version is also worth the extra few bucks and weight penalty.

i hate the thermarest neoair pad i have. (not this Xtherm with higher R value....) it crinkles like sleeping on a bag of potato chips! very noisy for a guy who rolls around in his sleep alot. went to Klymit pad with the "waffles"

Guessing you bought several years ago? They updated the fabric around 2018 or 2019. Much quieter than original.

I recently purchased an XTherm Max. It is very warm and comfortable. My 14 y/o daughter was the first to lay on it when it arrived at the house. She said “is this thing heated”! 😂 It is a bit noisy but hopefully with some use that will diminish. This is one of the “buy once cry once” items that I splurged on. I’m 5’ 8” 160 lbs and I’m glad I didn’t get the mummy shaped one.

I hope the newer version works out.i bought the xlite in 2017 for a sheep hunt and as mentioned. Sounds Exactly like a bag of potato chips. I bought an exped downmat. Have one trip on it and like it so far.
