Thermal scope recommendations

I’ve run Pulsars for years and have loved them. The last couple of years I’ve had the Thermion 2 XL50 and it’s amazing. I also have the NocPix Ace S60R and it’s my new go to. A couple of things that are making me swing to NocPix is the on the go features seem to be easier for me to do and I really like that the external batteries are not proprietary, at least with the Ace scopes. But IMO you can’t go wrong with either brand.

So I had my Nocpix H50R go down a couple weeks ago. The image quality went to complete shit and I was having to manually Nuc it a lot. The first time I contacted customer service and sent videos, their solution was to switch settings to manual nuc and not use the ultra clear mode, even though I explained i had already tried that. Didn’t fix the issue. Took some more shitty videos for them to view.

Second time I contacted customer service, they asked for more videos. I provided some very obviously flawed videos and they continued to ask for more videos, despite acknowledging that something was wrong with the scope. They even went as far as asking for simulated recoil videos, even through I had actual shooting videos with the scope screwing up. They would not accept the scope back initially until I provided their requested videos. I even had to contact my dealer who reached out to a rep and I think that’s what got the ball rolling. It really was some BS hoops to jump through.

Their touted, 5 day warranty guarantee also wasn’t met and it took me emailing them to request the status before they responded with a tracking number. Scope was mailed out the next day.

They replaced the core of the scope but the customer service and 5 day guarantee was BS, in my experience.

I’ve got a $3k max budget and would like to purchase my first thermal for nighttime predator hunting. Any recommendations?

I’ve been looking at the DNT Hydra 650R. What would be the cons of going this route versus competitors?

I also currently can’t walk for another month or two. Is the market moving fast enough that there might be better options or pricing in that time period? Would it be worth it to wait until summer/fall to purchase for a similar reason?

Thanks in advance for any insight provided.

I have a thor4 and a guide sensmart tb650 2.0 Clip-On. I have fallen in love with the versatility the Clip-On provides. It pairs well with my 4-32 nx8 and 3-15 Minox zp5s.

Here's a couple screenshots I pulled from the wifi videos. The real life image is mucho better.Screenshot_20260104-023638_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20260110-095845.jpg

I got a oneleaf and it is suprisingly good. I've only used it one time, so I can't comment on the durability/longevity of it, but after 1 trip, I am impressed.
