Correct and agree. There’s just not many low base mag options out there in that price range.

Rattler V2 25-384 is 2X base mag, $1,795.

Eyeshine with an IR light and a suppressed 22 pistol under NODs are how I shoot most raccoons. Works well!

Every now and then I get one with thermal.

The dedicated upper I'm speaking of is a 22LR upper that fits an actual AR lower. However, its heavy and cumbersome

The other night I had a possum eye level with me at about 5 feet and I couldn't see it with a flashlight because of heavy multiflora rose and honeysuckle foliage was so thick. I trusted the dogs, backed up and found it with the thermal, then moved in and swiped foliage out of the way with the suppressed muzzle. Shot him at point blank range, should have had a bayonet mounted.

I really appreciate the responses on something that seems so menial. I never said I don't over analyze things and am not OCD. Lol
