Hunting buddy shot a UP of MI black bear at about 15 yards a few years ago....quartering away with a good size fixed blade BH. Tip must have hit a rib precisely wrong because it rode the ribcage down to his "armpit" and then exited. Ugly wound.....no dead bear. Stuff happens in a dynamic hunting environment......and as mentioned, wild animals are survival experts.
