The Unofficial CZ 452/455/457 Thread

I went with the tikka because they shoot a lot of ammo very well without anything.Just ordered a grey birch chassis for it.
I play and hunt with mine so that’s what was important.It came threaded at 16 and I have no intention of ever changing the barrel.

@Q_Sertorius

Not sure if you also have a T3X in your stable…
If so, how close is the handling / feel between the T1X & T3X?

My plan is to work the Carl Ross drill with consistency to improve marksmanship under pressure. Circumstances dictate a 50 yard range and subsonic suppressed. I can do this regularly near my home, then take longer trips to a distant location to work on longer range shooting with my hunting rifle.

Thanks for your previous input.

I have three T3X’s. The feel is close enough. But I think the same is true of the CZ.

I use my .22’s much as you describe. At 50 yards, I usually shoot at a 6” paper plate with a 1” dot in the middle and a 3.5” circle. The goal is to get every shot inside the 3.5” circle from field positions.

First 10 shots after putting this rifle back together since getting the barrel cut. 1/2" group at 25 yards w/ CCI SV. Looks fine to me. Totally good enough to go tip over a few rabbits and ptarm.

My MTR came with the CZ branded 25 moa pic rail. What rings and ring height do you guys recommend? 30mm tube thanks!

ive got the area 419 rail. So take that for what it’s worth.
The rail added a lot of height on its own, so I really wanted the lowest rings I could find.

Seekins 30mm, 0.82” height have felt comfortable, and are what I settled on.
0.87” rings felt just a little too high. They made me want some sort of cheek piece.

Nothing terribly impressive other than being left handed and chambered in 22 Magum. My first Maggie. Kinda feeling I should have gone HMR. Shoots Great to Ok. Shoot only at 100 yards. 30 VMax from Hornady are the clear winner for accuracy. Seems very fickle in the slightest of breeze. Have a handful of 5 shot in the .7 to .85”. Lots at 1 1/4” for 5.
