The Teratorn: A Shoot2Hunt X EXO Bag Collab

That’s an 18” barrel with a 5.7” Scythe on the end. A regular stock would sit a little bit lower, as the folded butt end of the HNT 26 does not sit all the way down in the side stretch pocket due to its size.
I should have included that I have it in the XLR chassis. I imagine id run into a similar issue to you but maybe slightly less so with the XLR being relatively streamlined.

Form, thanks for the videos. You've shown a lot well thought out features of this bag. I have never used a bag with wings before, they were always to strappy and cumbersome looking for my likes. The idea tucking the wings between the bag and frame when not needed is a great idea. The shock cord inside the lid is also a nice touch, there is nothing worse than hearing items clanking around right behind your head while hiking.

There are downsides to Ultra 400 and XPac. We have tested those (and other UL fabrics) extensively and they just flat-out don't perform up to their claims — especially over time. We continue to test UL fabrics and are even involved with developing some new ones. More to come...in time.
I am excited about that project to come!

Just over here anxiously awaiting the ability to click "buy"...

Honestly the EXO bags compress so well, I really don't personally see the need to have both a larger and smaller if they're on the same frame, as they'll be the same size anyway.

There was zero perceivable difference in this between my 3600 and the 5000 that I traded it for. With the R3 wings attached, I had very little complaints about that setup. Really my only gripes were that I wished the bag was just a hair bigger (seems like this one is), and the full-length zippered pockets with a single pull tab that were too small for real use and slightly annoying to access when the lid was pulled down tight.

If the 7200 had double-pulls that would allow opening anywhere within the zipper travel for easy access when compressed, and side pockets that were larger to take advantage of the extra real estate afforded by the bag, I probably would have been perfectly happy with that.

I am really beginning to like the idea of a dedicated access for just my sleeping bag/pad, though.

Please bring it in a day pack version. I day hunt or do one nighters in the late season. This ease of access looks amazing. I just don't want that much bag cause it'd be mostly empty. Looks nice tho and love the concept👍
That's just what I want tho. The demand may not be there. No clue🤷

Why not a 2200 and the SG R3 side bags?

I'll have my bag at the Idaho Trapper's Association convention in Salmon this weekend. Friday and Saturday if anyone wants to take a look at one in person.

I'll look into that. Thanks!
This works great. If all you're needing is a small day pack, 6 of these will attach the R3 side bags to a K4 frame:

I found the R3 bags to be just slightly small to fit my bulky winter layers and glass this season, though I can't really afford to have a garage full of "the right tools for the right job," but instead "the most flexible tools for mostly everything." :ROFLMAO:

Should work perfect with a proper day pack loadout.

Obviously not the Teratorn, but here's my 5k with R3 wings. Entire young Aoudad ram in the load shelf and skull/horns under the lid. Rifle in Exo rifle carrier strapped under right wing bag, tripod on opposite side in left pocket and strapped under left wing bag (unseen).

Right wing has a FL Chamberlin puffy, which fills up the entire volume, and the left one has my puffy pants and binos which does the same.

The bag is missing my tent and sleep system that I had to go break down 2 miles away at the car, otherwise I was pretty much fully loaded up.

I imagine the new pack would be near-identical. Difference is that these wings are attached to the straps of the frame vs to the bag itself so the ride location is adjustable. Here I have them about 2 inches away from the frame because of the load shelf, similar to if they were sewn to the bag.

How’s the Exo carrier fit with the rokstok? Alittle tight?

I just put the exo carrier on my 2200 and yea its tight on the rokstock, it goes in but takes some fiddling. I am thinking about how to stretch it a bit, maybe with a clamp or something.

Agree with others above. Too tight for any modern stocks (KRG bravo, Rokstok, even Tikka with a limbsaver was tight/annoying).

I think exo will custom make a larger than normal rifle carrier if you call them. I ended up going with the SG rifle carrier and it’s great. I don’t miss the elastic one bit.

I have a SG one sitting around but I dont love the pull strap. Maybe I will use that bottom and exo top, need to play with that a bit.

After my most recent S2H course I’ve realized it’s not realistic to quickly retrieve the rifle from a fully loaded pack and make a shot. Instead, I now just use the normal pack compression straps to hold the rifle in the pack, knowing I need to remove the pack to get the rifle and shoot. If you practice this it’s < 10 seconds to remove pack and have rifle in hand.

If I think there’s a high chance of a quick shot occurring, I’ll be carrying rifle in hand from now on to save those 10 seconds.

Edit: Clarification
