The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

@Broomd (resident oil guru), which one is the better bet, GTE or BORR?
Dunno about the guru part, grin.
Deets...

BORR (Dutch?) is a Bermuda-based international contracted driller.
GTE drills and produces from their own assets, mostly in Central/South America. BORR has enjoyed a much higher PT over the years, as such the upside seems far greater.
GTE is Canadian-based and has a far lower price history.

Both are bargains right now, imho. BORR was $2.60 plus in June. It will retrace. Looking for $5-7.
GTE should see $2-$2.50 minimum when Brent really starts cooking towards $80/brl.

OPEC wants it and they will get it. Be ready.

My wife and I are starting to look for a house. We wanted to live about 20 miles outside the little city we currently live in as housing is generally cheaper. Sucks to see the 70 cent jump in fuel this month alone.

@Broomd you're an invaluable asset to us all. Any thoughts on VET?

Yea I’m getting out of the spac, ev, etc madness and getting into some “safer” plays like oil. Back in GTE, BORR, etc. That correction showed me I was way over invested in that crap. Made some money, but got stuck in some..

I'm thinking about throwing some money back into SPAC's even though I didn't play the last two right. If the market wavers again, I think that Klein's other SPAC's are a good place to park money for the time being. I feel like you won't lose as much, as long as you don't get married to one, you can exit with some money without a big risk.

SPY AH bounce right off the trend line. This’ll be interesting 😜

Sell AMC at open tomorrow or hang on to it??? Would like to see the $20 mark again but it has been hitting $10 and plummeting.

Look into TDAC (And TDACW for warrants) it’s the Lottery.com one. Already have a good foundation, expansion plans, and they recently brought the draft kings CEO onto the board...plus its “gambling” on your phone app which people will do...

I’ve been loading warrants and common shares...warrants for short term, and the commons for a long hold.

Bargain basement pricing after last weeks beating. Investor preso is supposed to be out soon, depending on margins and revs, it’s could explode.

I'm not a fan of spacs, a company should ipo on its own financials or not at all.

Nothing more than investor pull tabs..

If you don’t mind me asking, why’d you sell Shell?

Well, a little involved but here are a few reasons.

When I first bought RDS.A over 10 years ago, one of the many reasons I chose them is they had not missed a DIV payment since WWII. COVID-19 put an end to that impressive streak when they cut the DIV from ~$3.85/yr to ~$1.27. I still held on as I know fossil fuels are needed for a lot more then energy...you know things like yoga pants, iPhone cases and you name it, but I do not see that getting anywhere close to the old amount anytime soon.

When the current administration cancelled the pipeline a couple weeks ago, clearly, they are going to do things for appearances sake and not science or common sense. Just another nail in this sector's coffin to an extent. Not a coup de grace, but not encouraging either.

I could go on for another few mins on this, but these are just two reasons.

Lastly, I will jump back in if it looks right, but I am going to sit on the cash (as much as it pains me to having it make so little) for a bit to see where things go over the coming months.

Finally got at least level 2 options going in my fidelity brokerage. Guess that will have to do till I build it up and get level 3.

Tell ya what, when it comes to ease of trading nothing beats robinhood, as much as they pissed in everyone's cheerios they have the UX on LOCK. I like ATP but it takes so many clicks to get the same information. I hate that I need to have six panels and change all six manually to see the data. I wanna put the ticker in once and all six panels update at the same time. Maybe I need to be on the test team.

Got out the crystal ball, snake oil last night. It looks like it’s consolidating right above the TL, that usually ends up with a good pop once it’s finished. I’m gonna be playing but not 100% in market, playing cautiously as I don’t want to have zero cash for when the big dip comes

Yeah but with so many incidences dating back decades of companies getting butt raped by their underwriters taking them to market at 50, 100% or more discounts, it's easy to see why it's attractive to a CFO. From an investor standpoint though, yes it got way too hot, but it's here to stay because of the advantages it offers.

Markets on the cusp of turning up. Russell looks like it might want to catch up soon. BTC continuing to rip. WE just might get that run in.

I'm talking about getting in pre DA, right around $10. Let it soak until it gets a pop. and Strictly sell the rumor.
