After old Leo claimed that he knows that global warming is real because he witnessed it personally ( he thought a Chinook blowing through Calgary while he was there was real time global warming ) I just can't watch anything he does without that stupidity playing back over and over in my head.
By the the way I'm not making a stand on wether or not man made global warming is real, just the outright ignorant stupidity of his statement.

You know that is a rumor right? There has been tons of articles from people actually involved in the movie saying its not true....

No. But it sure seemed odd to me. Which is why I said "supposed" in my post.

Huh?

The real guy in history gets attacked by a grizzly! Same as in movie? Too gruesome for you or what? :)

Nope. Just going on what I read when the movie came out. Have no idea if it was true or not but it is the first and only thing I have read. I had no intention of seeing it (or any other movie for that matter) so I never thought anything else about it.

Well geez, of course its a rumor if you found it on the Drudge Report :D

The real Hugh Glass was attacked by a grizzly and he gets attacked by a grizzly in the movie.... no rape in history or the movie

I know there is no rape in history in Hugh Glass' story. Matter of fact there is no history of bear rape for anyone. Which made the movie seem ridiculous at the time.

Can you scientifically back that up? I mean, I don't think that rape kits are standard operating procedure when a body is recovered after a bear mauling. If they are not checking bodies for bear rape, how do we really know????

Science and history are not the same....so I never claimed to scientifically back up anything? If you read this article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/film/the-revenant/leonardo-dicaprio-do-bears-rape-humans/, which unfortunately I have and it is 10 minutes of my life I will never get back, you will see that the article states that there are no recorded cases of bears raping humans. Hence the term "history" which I used.

It was originally reported on the Drudge Report (obviously I was the only guy on the internet that read Drudge that day) that the bear raped Leo. I didn't report this, I didn't make it up, I only read it. Given the ridiculousness and debauchery of the Hollywood movie makers I figured it wasn't too far fetched that something like this was written into a movie? Working off the assumption that some freak actually did write a movie where a guy is raped by a bear, I decided I would not be interested in the movie. Now I know that this is not true and all is right in the world. :)

I was joking. And you're not the only one who saw the Drudge headline.

Check out the movie Man in the Wilderness with Richard Harris... This is basically a re-make, more or less...
That is what I thought when reading the synopsis. His last name was Bass in that movie I think.
Saw it a few days before Christmas, don't believe I finished it. Won't be watching it again either, stupid movie.
