If you're keen on it, usually folks are dumping stuff on facebook already for nothing. Just got a like new bow half off. I usually try and find last years bows from guys selling them to buy the new one and give it a whirl to see if I like them more than my older ones.

Totally cool with a used one. I’ll take a look on the ol FB. Been keeping an eye here on the classifieds too

I like Hoyt as well. But it all comes down to personal preference for each bow.

I had a carbon spyder that shot really well for me. Went to an RX4 and that was a mistake- would always pull. Missed a Mt Caribou and Stone Sheep with that dang bow 🤬

Went to the RX 7 the second year it was out and love it. I like the streamlined sight and mini stabilizer it comes with. So simple and shoot great for me.

I do think it’s definitely time for you to upgrade

There's dozens of buy/sell/trade groups. Get lots of pics and ask questions to make sure it isn't someone trying to scam. Always use G&S too lol

I've bought 20+ bows and only once was it someone scamming. Had the protection though.

keep in mind you get out of a bow speed wise what you put into it. there is no magic. If you are getting 10 fps more with the exact same specs, they have to hide the extra energy somewhere in the draw curve. map it out with a drawboard and scale and youll see this.

My main bow has a ibo of 343, 7 inch brace height, 3.9 pounds bare, 31 inches axle to axle. nice draw and a nice valley for a speed bow, i can hold it for a long time and it doesnt wanna jump like some others. IF i told you the year youd be surprised. It was way ahead of its time. When it breaks ill get a new one. ive shot plenty of new bows at the bow shop. I'm looking for speed and a nice valley. few have both. none are head and shoulders better.

Now some of the new short draw options from hoyt and bowtech may be faster than a 30 inch turned down to 27.5-28. is 5 fps worth 2 grand?

Yeah for sure. Lots of factors go into that speed. And the bow companies know how to show you the ideal number you’ll never actually get.

My biggest factor right now though is what I’m losing at 60lb instead of 70. I was in my teens when I got my bow so it was fine then but I’m ready for a 60-70 draw. Especially since we go west from time to time.

Edit: not that a 60lb bow won’t work out west. Plenty of guys and gals getting it done with that or less. But I can pull more, so why not take advantage of that speed. IE less flight time. IE less chance for an animal to move.
