I did the incline this morning and WOW! This is worth the drive if you live close to Colorado Springs. It is only a mile up but 2000 feet in elevation. The steps on the ties are higher than most, if not all of us take. I have made a pledge to do it every Saturday morning but I will start to do it before daylight. I got there at 7 AM and it looked like a sea of catapillers crawling up the incline at that time and had to pay $5 to park. That was money well spent. As far as a workout it rates as a four boot. I did it with a Badlands Sacrifice pretty much empty except a 100 oz bladder and a full Nalgene bottle for the mix. A GPS, camera, phone and a few snacks. People kept saying that looks heavy? Most of the people I saw where doing it with a water bottle in hand. Most run back down on Barr trail. I did not.. enjoying the scenery but it was a real workout. It is worth it if you are close enough to do it. I went to the website and looked at times people have done to the top and well I will have to say I will never even come close. Most if not all of those people doing it under 30 minutes are professional atheletes, doing it under 30 minutes. But I am working up to hunting shape again. If you want a real hard cardio workout and a leg burner this is it.Bob.

Glad you enjoyed it Bob. You can park farther down on Ruxton Ave for free. It is truly a great cardio burn and even more so with a pack on. There is a new iPhone app that just came out that does not let you start your time unless your at the bottom. Lets you compete against yourself and others by tracking data. Kind of like Alpine replay but incline specific. The official record is 18 minutes 22 seconds (matt carpenter). The unofficial record is 15 minutes and change (olympic short track skater Apollo Ono). Crazy fast times for sure. Great scenery on the trail as well :)

Cool. I've been wanting to do this one. I'll try to make it out one Saturday morning. I'll send you a PM before I head down that way.
