The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

I love the parables. Mathew is one of those books that every time I read it I get a new revelation. I love that we are discussing these difficult topics and helping each other deepen our understanding of the word. This is what it’s about. Helping each other grow towards God. Thank you all!

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails"

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread,
and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Just finished writing a paper for a class of mine. I decided to finish my degree after many years of avoiding it lol. Something the Lord has brought to my heart. As we all have previously discussed, if we are saved or even recently my own mother asking my opinion of if people can lose their salvation this is something He revealed to me.

If we would monitor our hearts in relation to the words Christ spoke, mirror His actions, and speak His truth. Then there will be no ambiguity as it comes the questions of life.

Thank you for your mercy, Lord. I need it.

Get in there bro. ❤️

I just had this happen Wednesday. Could be a coincidence, I don't believe it is. I took my dog to the vet last week. She had a strange growth on her shoulder. It was flat and hard, just under the skin. Vet thought it was very strange. She poked it with a needle to get a tissue sample. She called me Monday to let me know it was most likely a Sarcoma based on the type of cells she found. Even with the best treatment, dogs usually die within a year. I prayed that night. I told God I know it's only a dog but could you please heal her. She is so gentle and loyal, I don't want her to suffer. The Bible tells us to ask, so I did.

I took her back to the vet Wednesday to get xrays, to see if it traveled to her lungs which is common since she pants a lot and has a cough. Her lungs looked good, the problem was they couldn't find the mass. The same vet tech was there and she couldn't find it either. We all looked and it's just gone. Was it God, chance, coincidence? I'm going with God.

That’s an incredible story!

How’s she doing?

Good Sunday Morning Men.

Today’s gospel comes from the book of Luke.

What will you thank God for today?

Gospel

Luke 17:11-19
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem,
he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him.
They stood at a distance from him and raised their voices, saying,
"Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!"
And when he saw them, he said,
"Go show yourselves to the priests."
As they were going they were cleansed.
And one of them, realizing he had been healed,
returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;
and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.
He was a Samaritan.
Jesus said in reply,
"Ten were cleansed, were they not?
Where are the other nine?
Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?"
Then he said to him, "Stand up and go;
your faith has saved you."

She's fine. The mass is still gone, I keep checking for it. She's old and slow, like always. I still can't believe it.
God cares about what you care about, no matter how insignificant it may seem in the grand scheme of things. Not that a dog is an insignificant thing, just lost our pup of 18yrs last fall. He is good and His love endures forever!!

Sorry to hear about your buddy. They are almost like kids. It's funny that my dogs are always involved when something like this happens to me. I'm not super close with family except for my dad and one of my sons. My dogs are a big part of my life. They just bring me so much joy. I'm alone a lot except for my dogs. Maybe that's why God chose them to let me know he's there. My wife works quite a bit. I've only been a believer for a few years. I still struggle with faith, sin, salvation. I wonder if I'm really saved. If I really have the Holy Spirit. I see changes in myself, but I also see some of the same old things. I know we are supposed to forgive, and the hardest person for me to forgive is myself. I pray every day for forgiveness, to be less judgmental and for my anger to go away. I am grateful for the gifts God has given me and I want to be a better man because of it.

Speaking of asking for insignificant things. I've recently been surrounded by a group of men that pray specifically on a lot of their hunts. Not praying for success necessarily or trophy's, but just simply asking God for direction through the hunt, wisdom, and then praying often when the hunt is going bad to just be blessed with some hope. That's what prayer should be anyway - just a constant conversation with the Lord. Most of the things in our daily lives would be considered insignificant but like the good father he is, the Lord cares about those things. The Bible says that we have not because we ask not.

So Going back to the group of men - last September I had my first ever moose hunt in Alaska. On our last prayer meeting prior to departing, the men gathered over me and prayed directly for things - for protection for my family when I was gone, for protection for me on the float (turns out I would need it as it got Western at times), for opportunities for me to share the Gospel with others, and lastly they asked specifically for me to drop a huge moose close to the river.
I shot a 62" B&C moose on the first day of the hunt 20 yards off the river. That's Gods favor I believe and he taught me through that. Surround yourself with men that lift you up and go to the Lord on Your behalf - men that want too see you succeed.

Read the word every day even when you don’t feel like it, even when you don’t feel like you’re retaining it. There a battle for your soul and the devil don’t go on vacation! Ephesians 6:13-17, put on the armor of God! And as for still doing the wrong thing sometimes the word of god has an answer for that too!

We were on an elk hunt and posted up on a wallow, I had got a bull on day one and was hunting with my buddy. Broadside shot, 40 yds, slightly quartered away, he shot and his bow had a mechanical failure(lost a bolt on the switch weight)sounded terrible and he hit just in front of the rear quarter at the crease and we both immediately knew it was a terrible shot. Prayed right after that the animal wouldn’t suffer and because it was dark pulled out to come look for him the following morning. No blood trail and as we were looking I kept smelling elk where a trail went up a steep face and bull was laying in a hole less than 50yds from where he was shot. It was a terrible shot, exited off side well behind the last rib but he went down like it was a heart shot. Have to give God all the glory for that one!

“God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭7‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is perfect in His judgement, this is something that took me a while to understand.
Why do bad things happen to good people? Well from Gods point of view none of us are truly “good”. God set that standard and we fall short of it daily. The question of why do bad things happen to good people is not the correct question but rather why does God prolong judgement on the rest of us? I think it’s because He is still working in us. He has allowed us to continue living so we can be the light He has called us all to be. Just this mornings thought.

Amen @dylanvb

Father in Heaven, continue to summons me. Answer prayer through me and let your light shine through me. Help me to use the gifts that I’ve been given to help others. Not for my gain, but for You and Your Kingdom. Amen.
