The "ugly time" you mentioned in the above sure sounds like you are trying to minimize the "ugly thing[sic]" implying it was done so long ago, it could not possibly apply to your church today. And my "[sic]" is referenced as surely you did not mean a single atrocity by the church, but many, heck I'd say, even 1000's upon 1000's of atrocities.

And lastly, would the pope, or other most senior church leaders, fall under the "ugly people" you referenced?

If not, you are going to be very disappointed in your church if you watch the 20 minute video I linked.

I’m happy to explain if you’re willing to listen in absolute good faith but sadly, I doubt that’s going to happen. You are missing the point. If the historical and archeological evidence you mention is true that doesn’t mean Jesus is God and the miracles happened. You can read a historical novel that has many true events in it but that doesn’t mean the novel is true.

I think the part maybe that isn’t connecting is that it’s a combo of historical fact and proof the person of Jesus really walked the earth coupled with our own personal experiences with Him. I’ve had experiences in my life that are completely unexplainable by anything other than God. I’m happy to share those experiences if you’d like to hear them. Not to convince/convert you otherwise, but for the conversation and understanding.

There’s a bigger picture here and you and I view things through two different lenses. I’m constantly watching and listening for God to speak to me, show me something, warn me of, whatever it might be. If you don’t believe in God, I wouldn’t expect you to see things the way I do or interpret them how I do.

So in that, when I read the good book, go to church, practice my faith and pray, I know the Bible is a real story, not a fictional novel. Hope that helps a little more.

Can I pray for you? Whatever it is you might need a prayer for or even prayer for understanding? Not like I’m a “im holier than thou” thing. Just a prayer.

You use the sins of man to say that God is evil when the Bible already tells us this will happen. Thats why Christians don’t listen when this argument of “oh that person claims to be a Christian but did this” comes up. The Bible has warned us about this. That’s the whole point, we all sin, we all fall short, we can all be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. And this saving is not for this lifetime it is for the next, another common misconception of the message that Jesus Christ brought.

the Bible is not open to interpretation. All the people who have twisted it and used it to serve themselves in this lifetime will be judged for it.
Just because we don’t see the said judgement doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.


I am not trying to make you mad or frustrated but to me It’s apparent in your own testimony of your life that you wanted to believe in jackpot Jesus and when your prayers weren’t answered you rebelled. You believed in a lie that’s being spread around to this day and this is the importance of reading the Bible for yourself and understanding it through revelation and prayer something that God only gives to those who truly seek Him.

God did not create us so he could worship us, he created us to worship Him. If He answered every one of our prayers who is god on that relationship? He is not a genie in a bottle.

There is no doubt that persecution is a stark reality of living the Christian life.
